Flask and sample containers are rotated in a low temp, heat transfer solution, coating the inner surface. This method also enhances freeze-drying applications, by pre-freezing and creating a uniformly thin layer and a more efficient vapor flow as a result. This shell freezer holds up to 4.5 liters of ice before defrosting and accommodates sample containers up to 1200 ml in volume. The ¼ hp CFC free refrigeration system cools to below -40°C, and requires a vacuum pump with a displacement of at least 98 liters per min.
